Azumi Takeda was born in 1986 in Shizuoka, Japan. She received her BA and MA from Kyoto University and creates prints of people and apartments with etching and aquatint. Takeda is known for her humorous portrayals of people in repetitive or compressed modern scenes. Her work explores people inhabiting secluded, claustrophobic spaces or locked into daily patterns. She uses beautiful balance and elegant compositions to add a playful and peaceful feeling to the commentary. Takeda’s work has been exhibited throughout Japan and internationally.
