In addition to her artistic pursuits, Carol Wax (American, b. 1953) is a frequent lecturer and, as a visiting artist, has presented workshops on matters related to direct, non-toxic printmaking internationally. The newly revised and expanded Second Edition of her book, The Mezzotint: History and Technique was published in 2023 by Schiffer Books. Her essays have appeared in international catalogues and journals. Honors received include the Louise Nevelson Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, two New York Foundation for the Arts Artist Fellows Grants, an Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant, and residencies at The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation and The MacDowell Colony.  Her mezzotint engravings are in numerous publications and collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and The National Museum of American Art.
