Robert Patierno lives, works and teaches in Pennsylvania, although is a frequent artist in residence at the Frans Masereel Center in Belgium. His abstracted woodcuts are often filled with brilliant colors full shadow and movement. He sees his print work as indirectly related to prints by Gaugin, Munch, and the German Expressionists. Patierno is currently a professor at Gettysburg College.
